“I want to tell you about the unexpected gift my son gave me, the one that I wasn’t anticipating. I want to tell you how Jaison’s presence in my life- exactly as he is-- brought me the opportunity to realize something so incredible I could not have imagined it. This website is dedicated to sharing this—something incredible”
-Sharon Hart
| "So whenever any kind of disaster strikes, or something goes seriously "wrong" - illness, disability, loss of home or fortune…break up of a close relationship, death or suffering of a loved one, or your own impending death -know that there is another side to it, that you are just one step away from something incredible..."
-Eckhart Tolle, Author of "The Power of Now."

“ When I’m talking about this miracle--- I mean something so much greater than how Jaison’s presence in my life has sharpened and fine tuned my ability to live life with more patience, compassion, devotion and acceptance.
-Sharon Hart
When faced with a great life altering challenge we have a choice. We can either let the situation diminish us or we can let it bring out the best in us. In other words, we can either spend our lives depressed and resigned or we can realize something incredible.
The Center for Self Inquiry is here to show you how to let your challenge bring out the best in you. Here at The Center for Self Inquiry we invite you to see how the illness or disability that your family faces can be seen as a gift to propel you to live life from a deeper place.
“Our journey with our son with autism has become a catalyst that has deepened our commitment to live every moment of our lives with inner peace.”
–Sharon Hart
If I had inner peace about my child's autism doesn't that mean I would accept things just the way they are? And if I accepted things the way they are, wouldn't I just stop fighting and give up? I don't want to give up.
By encouraging you to explore The Uncommon Path to Inner Peace, we are not suggesting that you give up.
When we refuse to accept things the way they are, because we want a particular solution, then we often have difficultly seeing the situation clearly. When we are coming from fear, then we tend to overlook things we do not want to see.
With acceptance, the motivation to improve the situation comes from compassion instead of anxiety. When action comes from compassion, you can see solutions that were previously overlooked and employ these solutions with a calmness that is more likely to achieve success. From this new perspective, you can gain renewed strength and determination to heal your situation.
When you walk the Uncommon Path to Inner Peace, it is possible to accept things the way they are and not give up. Acceptance is not resignation.
How does living in inner peace help me with my child with autism and special needs?
In order to have the energy and endurance that we need to succeed at helping our children learn to communicate and interact socially and to function optimally, not only must we find a way to overcome our grief, we must also find a source of enormous inner strength. Until we find inner peace and joy in our own lives ---despite the limitations that autism and other special needs bring to our lifestyle---we will not have the stamina we need to help our child in the long haul. Inner peace gives you access to this source of inner strength; an inner strength that allows you to move from compassion with determination.
| The Center for Self Inquiry offers answers to questions like:
How can I find joy in my life, when I am so cut off from activities, events and experiences that are defined as the causal factor in finding happiness?
How can I find the strength to accept these things that seem so unacceptable? |
“There is another way to realize inner peace and fulfillment!! There is a way to realize joy that is not dependent on external circumstances.”
-Trevor Hart
The Uncommon Path to Inner Peace and Joy Is a NOT dependent on
- Wealth and power,
- Accomplishment and social position,
- Health or other current life circumstances
- Past personal history,
- Or even belief systems.
| There is a fulfillment that comes from REALIZING who you really are. and you can access it in every moment of your life - No Matter What. |
We invite you to use the challenges you are currently facing as a catalyst to live every moment in your life aware that at the very core of you, there is unlimited peace, joy and fulfillment.”
- Sharon and Trevor Hart
| “Beyond Happiness and Unhappiness is Peace…
Is there a difference between happiness and peace? Yes. Happiness is dependent on conditions being perceived as positive; inner peace does not.”
-Eckhart Tolle, Author of “The Power of Now”
